Review: Braid

Hi, people! Today I bring to you the review for another indie game that I liked SO MUCH, it's called "Braid".

I will start by the fact that this is a puzzles game (genre I fucking love) with a platformer movement style. Its more important in-game aspect is that you can, in a way, control time. If you die, you have to press Z (in a computer, but it is available in XBox 360 too), and go back to where you were alive, and act differently. It sound pretty cool, but that's not all of it. Every stage you go through will have a different variable factor that adds complexity and makes the player have to rethink the possibilities he/she has.

This aspect of the game makes it very addictive and fun....and HARD. Oh, and if you want even MORE difficulty, you can try to get the stars. I won't say anything more about those. :P

Its graphics are somewhat childish but wonderfully done. Most of it is made in watercolors, and every background is animated. Looks like a lot of effort was spent in this aspect. The music is VERY appropiated. The OST contains not many songs, but they are just perfect for this game, being all peaceful and calm. This helps a lot when you are trying to solve a puzzle.

The story is really confusing. Even having played it two times I can't tell for sure what the story was. It has a wide range of possible interpretations, but it is interesting. You can even learn a thing or two about life. =P
Something funny about it, also, is that it has a lot of elements from Mario, as satires. In fact the game's name is all about the princess, which is what the main character, Tim, looks for.

Whew! I finished! I hope you like my review, and I hope you like Braid, because I enjoyed a lot playing it. =P

Images: Cave Story Fanart

A Cave Story Fanart I made. Digital Art.

Cave Story is an awesome indie game developed by Pixel Studios (Daisuke Amaya). It's an adventure shooting platformer, and I got totally in love with it. Maybe later I will make a review about it.

Anyway, hope you like it. :)

Poll: Castlevania SotN (PSX) vs Super Metroid (SNES)

The first poll has arriven! These guys will be like this: I will mention two games of somewhat the same kind, and you will have the opportunity to vote and justify for one of them.

In this case, the two competitors are Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for PSX and Super Metroid for SNES.

Which one do you believe is the best? Vampire-Vampire killer (or father-killer) or Bounty Huntress?

Music: Shadow of the Colosssus - Counterattack

I personally haven't got through all of this game, but as far as I played it I got amazed with the OST. It really makes a good atmosphere to fight.

Music: Portal - Still Alive

A very popular and cool song among gamers nowadays.

The lovely voice of GLaDOS (or a turret, who knows) turns this song quite beautiful. Don't you think so?

Music: Chrono Trigger - Wind Scene

Probably my favourite song from Chrono Trigger, by Yasunori Mitsuda. This one is said to be the best RPG by a lot of people, the ones that don't think FF7 is.

Music: Tales of Phantasia - Fighting of the Spirit

Arguably the best song from Tales of Phantasia (my favourite game of all time), composed by Motoi Sakuraba.

Music: Terranigma - The Underworld

I would like to begin with this wonderful song, by Masanori Hikichi. It's one of my favourites from this game, which is as awesome. Or more.

Enjoy listening. :D

Welcome to Game-Clash!

Hello everynyan! I would like to welcome all of you to my blog.

After much thinking about what course should this blog take (game reviews, game music sharing, game polls, and other game-stuff...), I finally noticed and decided that I wanted to talk about all of those, so, the topic will be... General Gaming Stuff!

*cough cough*

Well, it doesn't seem all cool, but I will try to make it cool.

I have to say that I like old-school games the most, like the ones for SNES (specially RPGs -fuck how I like them-), so I will be talking a lot about these, but I will talk lots about other kinds too, like puzzle, action-rpg, tactics, mmos, and so on.

Anyway, all is left is to begin posting so, enjoy yourselves! ;3
